About Us
Welcome to Get Lean Tulsa – a Web site that is dedicated to giving you the information and tools you can use to be healthy, active and happy! We are determined to change our city and states' unhealthy rankings for nutrition and exercise.
The Web site is created by the City of Tulsa, Mayor Dewey Bartlett Jr. and Victoria Bartlett in cooperation with the Tulsa Health Department, Helo Oklahoma, Inc., and our sponsor Subway. Mrs. Bartlett, Tulsa’s first lady, is working on several projects to help Tulsans improve their health awareness, nutrition goals and fitness levels, while also educating children and their parents on health and fitness models. We will highlight those activities on this site. The Tulsa Health Department is contributing nutrition tips and recipes, and we will be bringing in other experts and challenges over the next three years. So be sure to come back to our site often to learn of new developments!
Before we can begin to improve our community, we have to face the truth and begin to build projects and programs to make a difference. Tulsa is not among the healthiest cities in the country. In fact, Oklahoma is ranked among the lowest in national health surveys and reports. Tulsans typically don't eat enough fruits and vegetables or exercise on a daily basis. Get Lean Tulsa is here to encourage you to make simple changes that will help you feel better. By eating healthy foods and adding a fun, physical activity to your daily schedule, you will have taken the right steps toward getting in better shape.
Get Lean Tulsa is excited to offer you online tools you may not have used before as a former Tulsa Million Miles user. In addition to tracking your miles and logging your activity, the Get Lean Tulsa community counter gives you all-new stats on:
